Nice to meet you!
Hi I'm Meg, I'm an artist, naturalist, photographer, conservationist and adventurer. I have a deep love of the natural world and I am passionate about bringing the beauty and wonder of it to life through art. I’m a self-taught artist with a deep passion for capturing the intricate beauty of wildlife through hyper-realistic illustrations. Inspired by my adventures on the rugged coastlines and mountains of British Columbia, I have developed a profound connection with the diverse and often endangered species that call this region home. This connection has been the driving force behind my artistic journey and my mission: to use art as a tool for conservation.
My Artistic Journey
My art is a blend of my love for nature and my dedication to honing my craft, despite not having formal training. I have taken a rather circuitous route to pursuing art as a career, as many artists do - but drawing animals has been something I have done since I first picked up a pencil. After an undergrad in wildlife conservation and five years as an elementary school teacher, my passion for art and wildlife has brought me back to what feels like my true calling - connecting people to nature through art. Over the years, I’ve learned to see the world with an artist’s eye, focusing on the details that bring each subject to life on the page.
While my path as an artist has been unconventional, it has allowed me to explore and develop a style that is uniquely my own. My work is grounded in realism, but it’s also infused with the emotional resonance that comes from a deep, personal connection to my subjects—especially the wolves, bears, and whales of the Pacific Northwest.
Art for a Cause
Art, for me, is not just a form of expression; it’s a way to make a difference. I believe that art has the power to inspire change, to make people care about the world around them. My work is characterized by a deep love and respect for animals and a desire to share their intimate world with others. Through my art I hope to not only capture the essence of each animal I illustrate but also aim to inspire people to see animals in a new light and feel compelled to protect them. That’s why a portion of all sales from my work goes directly to wildlife conservation efforts. I collaborate with organizations dedicated to protecting endangered species and their habitats, ensuring that my art contributes to real, tangible change.

I invite you to explore the beauty of the natural world through my eyes, to join me in the effort to protect it, and to become part of a community that values both art and conservation.
